Beef in Guinness Stew

  1. Dip stew beef in seasoned flour.
  2. Fry seasoned beef in hot oil.
  3. Fry and brown onions and garlic.
  4. Place beef, onions, garlic & carrots in a stock pot.
  5. Add herbs and salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Cover beef with stock.
  7. Bring to a boil, cover and cook over a low heat for 1 1/2 hours.
  8. Then add Guinness, bring to a boil and simmer for another 30 minutes.
  9. With a slotted spoon remove meat from the sauce and place it in a large casserole or serving dish.
  10. Reduce the sauce to half the quantity over high heat.
  11. Once sauce is reduced pour over beef and serve.
