Homemade Flour Tortillas

  1. Place flour, baking powder and salt in a large bowl.
  2. Cut in the shortening, and mix until it resembles course crumbs.
  3. Add the water a little at a time, mixing with a fork until the dough pulls together.
  4. Form as many 2 in balls from the dough as you can.
  5. Cover and let rest 20 minutes.
  6. Preheat a dry skillet.
  7. Roll each ball out on a lightly floured surface.
  8. Cook about 30-45 seconds on each side.
  9. Keep warm by placing them in the folds of a clean dish towel.
  10. Recipe can be doubled to freeze.
