Family Style: Meatloaf
- 2 cups fresh bread crumbs
- 3/4 cup minced onion
- 1/4 cup minced green pepper
- 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 pound ground chuck
- 1/2 pound ground veal
- 1/2 pound ground pork shoulder
- 2 tablespoons grated horseradish
- 2 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1/4 cup milk
- 3/4 cup ketchup
- 2 -3 slices bacon
- In a large bowl combine well all ingredients except 1/2 cup ketchup.
- Grease baking loaf pan.
- Add mixture to pan taking care not to overwork.
- Cover with slices of bacon and brush with remaining ketchup.
- Bake at 400 degrees for 50 minutes.
- Cool for 10 minutes and slice.
- Makes great sandwiches the next day.
