Oaty Buttons (Soft Cookies)

  1. Turn on the oven to 350F
  2. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Stir in golden syrup, then vanilla.
  4. Then stir in the boiling water.
  5. Fold in the flour and oats.
  6. Roll the mixture into little golf-ball sized balls.
  7. Place on a greased baking tray.
  8. Bake for 20 minutes.
  9. Cool on a wire rack.
  10. Decorate with icing or any other topping.
