Apple Brown Betty

• 1 lb diced granny smith apple
• 1 lb butter
• 2 teaspoons rum extract
• 2 tablespoons sugar
• 1 lemon, juice of
• 2 teaspoons cinnamon
• 1 teaspoon nutmeg
• 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
• 2 cups yellow cake mix

1. saute all but cake mix in a skillet and then pour into a casserole dish.
2. top with cake mix and extra dollops of butter.
3. bake on 400 for 35 minutes.
