Pie Crust Like Snow White's
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 23 cup shortening, plus
- 2 tablespoons shortening
- 2 cups ice water
- extra flour
- Mix flour and salt.
- Add shortening and blend in with a pastry cutter until crumbly, moist and looks like little white peas.
- Add half of the water.
- Mix with your hands.
- Add more water until dough is quite sticky.
- Depending on your humidity that day, you may not need all of the water.
- Divide dough in half.
- Sprinkle 1/2 cup or so of flour onto your table.
- Roll the flour into the dough, adding more as necessary.
- Roll dough into a circle, turning often.
- Makes two 9" rounds.
