Melt in Your Mouth Char Siu in a Pressure Cooker
- 500 grams A block of pork belly
- 1 Japanese leek (the green part)
- 1 tbsp Ginger, grated (or tubed)
- 100 ml Soy sauce
- 4 tbsp Sugar
- 4 tbsp Sugar
- 400 ml Water
- 1 if desired Soft-boiled egg
- Put the pork belly in a meat netting and brown the surface in a skillet.
- Place the pork from Step 1 into a pressure cooker.
- Add the Japanese leek, ginger and the ingredients and close the lid.
- Cook under pressure for 15 minutes.
- After the pressure is released, take out the Japanese leeks.
- When the sauce cools down, remove the solidified fat.
- It will be even more delicious if you leave it for more than a day so the taste soaks in.
- If you marinate the soft-boiled eggs in the soup, they will be delicious too.
- You can serve them on a big plate or use it as a ramen noodle toppings.
