Easy Imitation Crabmeat Cream Croquettes

  1. Sweat the thinly sliced onions in margarine.
  2. Make sure you cook over low heat to bring out the sweetness and to prevent burning.
  3. Turn off the heat.
  4. Once the onions have been cooked, add in the flour and mix well.
  5. Turn down the heat to low again, and mix in the milk.
  6. After stirring the milk in, season with salt and pepper and cook for 4-5 minutes.
  7. Once the mixture becomes creamy, turn off the heat.
  8. Shred the imitation crab meat and mix in.
  9. Transfer to a large bowl, and after the mixture has cooled, cover with plastic wrap and cool in the fridge for 1 hour.
  10. Remove the mixture from the fridge.
  11. Shape into appropriate sized pieces.
  12. Then coat in flour, then in a beaten egg and panko crushed with your fingertips.
  13. Fry both sides at 170C for 2 minutes.
  14. Drain on paper towels.
  15. Serve on a plate and they are done!
