Velvet Lunch Cupcakes
- 1 cup sugar
- 12 cup shortening
- 1 egg (not beaten)
- 3 tablespoons molasses
- 1 cup sour milk
- 1 cup seedless raisin
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 34 teaspoon nutmeg
- 12 teaspoon ground cloves
- Cream sugar and shortening.
- Add egg, molasses.
- sour milk and raisins.
- Sift together flour, soda, salt and spices.
- Add to first mixture.
- Bake in cupcake pan for 20 minutes at 350F.
- * To make sweet milk sour, mix 2 tablespoons vinegar into sweet milk.
