Basic Long-Grain Rice
- 1 1/2 cups long-grain rice, rinsed in a strainer
- Large pinch of salt
- Combine the rice with 2 1/4 cups water (or stock) and the salt in a medium saucepan with a lid and turn the heat to medium-high.
- Bring to a boil.
- Turn the heat to medium-low and cover.
- Cook for 15 minutes, or until the water is absorbed and the rice is tender.
- Serve or keep warm over absolutely minimal heat for up to 15 minutes.
