New Orleans BBQ Shrimp
- 7 lbs large shrimp
- 1 cup real butter
- 1 cup olive oil
- 12 cup chili sauce
- 14 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 2 lemons (sliced thin)
- 4 garlic cloves
- 4 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon parsley
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 2 teaspoons oregano
- 3 teaspoons cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
- 1 tablespoon liquid smoke
- salt and pepper, to tast
- Wash the shrimp well.
- You do not need to peel the shrimp.
- Spread shrimp out in a baking dish.
- Combine all the ingredients in a saucepan over low heat.
- Let simmer for 10 minutes, then pour over shrimp.
- Mix well and refrigerate.
- Baste and turn the shrimp every 30 minutes and let refrigerate for 2 to 3 hours.
- Preheat oven to 300 and bake for 30 minutes.
- Turn the shrimp every ten minutes.
- I like to serve this with a good French bread to dip into the sauce.
