Hamburgers Sans Ham (1950)
- 12 cup rye breadcrumbs
- 1 12 lbs ground round
- 2 tablespoons chopped green peppers
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 egg
- salt
- pepper
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Knead the bread crumbs and meat together.
- Mix in pepper, onion, egg, salt and pepper.
- Shape into six patties.
- Melt butter in a skillet.
- Add meat and cook to desired doneness, 4-6 minutes per side.
- Place on a serving platter and pour pan juices over meat.
