Whole Wheat Raisin Nut Bread

  1. Pour the 2 cups boiling water over raisins, sugar and butter. Let stand while preparing other ingredients.
  2. Sift flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt; add to raisin mixture.
  3. Add eggs, nuts and vanilla; beat well.
  4. Pour into greased and floured loaf pans (2 large or 4 small ones).
  5. Bake large loaves for 1 hour or small ones for 50 minutes at 375u0b0.
  6. Bread may be frozen and used later.
