Stokvisch - Cod a La Volendam

  1. Roll cod fillet and tie with twine.
  2. Cover with boiling salted water and simmer until tender.
  3. Melt 4 tablespoons of the butter in a saucepan, blend in flour and brown slightly.
  4. Add water gradually, stirring constantly until thickened.
  5. Simmer for a few minutes.
  6. When fish is ready, place on a hot platter, add salt and remaining butter to sauce; pour over fish.
