Homemade Baked Beans

  1. Heat the olive oil in a saucepan and add the bacon, onion and garlic.
  2. Cook over a medium heat until the onion is golden.
  3. Add the tomato paste and tinned tomatoes, the drained beans, water, brown sugar, maple syrup, Worcestershire sauce, French mustard, salt and pepper.
  4. Simmer covered for 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
  5. Serve with crispbreads.
