Fruit Nut Delight

  1. Chop half of the walnuts very fine.
  2. Blend flour and brown sugar.
  3. Cut in butter.
  4. Add the 1/2 cup (125 ml) finely chopped nuts and coconut.
  5. Reserve 1/2 cup (125 ml) crumbs for topping.
  6. Pat into a 9 x 13 inch greased pan.
  7. Bake at 350 degrees (175 C.) for 15 minutes.
  8. Mix sugar, cream cheese, vanilla and egg; cream well.
  9. Pour over crust and bake for 10 minutes more.
  10. Remove frome oven and pour pie filling on top and sprinkle with reserved crumbs and remaining nuts.
  11. Bake 15 more minutes.
  12. Cool in pan on cooling rack.
  13. Refrigerate several hours.
  14. Cut into bars to serve.
  15. Serve with cool whip or ice cream.
