Sourdough Scones Recipe
- 1/2 c. starter
- 3/4 c. lowfat milk
- 2 1/4 c. flour
- 3 tbsp. melted butter
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon soda
- 3 tbsp. dry currants
- Melted butter
- In a large bowl, mix the starter, lowfat milk, and 1 1/2 c. flour.
- Cover and leave at room temperature overnight.
- Next day, pour the melted butter over the top and fold in.
- Mix together the remaining flour, salt, sugar, and soda.
- Sprinkle over the first mix along with currants.
- Knead lightly.
- Roll into 9 inch square.
- Cut into 9 (3 inch) squares.
- Dip in butter and arrange in 9 inch pan.
- Let rise 45 min, bake at 375 degrees for 35 min.
