Chili with Beans
- 2 lb. lean ground beef
- 1 cup ORE-IDA Chopped Onions
- 2 stalks celery, finely chopped
- 1 Tbsp. minced garlic
- 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp. chili powder
- 2 cans (16 oz. each) red kidney beans, rinsed
- 1 can (28 oz.) diced tomatoes, undrained
- Brown meat in large saucepan on medium heat; drain.
- Return meat to pan.
- Add onions, celery and garlic; cook 5 min.
- or until vegetables are crisp-tender, stirring frequently.
- Stir in sugar and chili powder; cook 2 min., stirring occasionally.
- Add beans and tomatoes; stir.
- Bring to boil; cover.
- Simmer on medium-low heat 30 min., stirring occasionally.
