cuban ground beef
- 1 medium onion
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 medium green pepper
- 1/2 medium red pepper
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 cup cooking wine/white wine
- 1 tbsp salt (or to taste)
- 1 1/2 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1 small canned tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup pimento stuffed salad olives
- Heat skillet with about 1 1/2 tbsp of olive oil
- when oil is mildly hot add ground beef
- add chopped onion, garlic powder, green and red peppers, salt, and pepper
- break down the meat and frequently stir all ingredients into meat.
- keep breaking up the beef.
- once you get meat grounded and cooked, throw away excess grease.
- add the canned tomato sauce, cooking wine, and bay leaf
- cook for 15 minutes on medium low..then add olives, continue cooking on low another 10 min.
- enjoy with white rice, black beans, and plantains
