Barbecued Burgers
- 1 cup ketchup
- 12 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 13 cup sugar
- 14 cup honey
- 14 cup molasses
- 2 teaspoons mustard
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 12 teaspoon salt
- 12 teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground
- 12 teaspoon liquid smoke
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 13 cup quick oats
- 12 teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground
- 14 teaspoon garlic salt
- 14 teaspoon onion salt
- 1 12 lbs ground beef (80/20)
- Combine all sauce ingredients in a small saucepan.
- Bring to a boil, then remove from heat.
- Set aside 1 cup of sauce.
- Gently mix all burger ingredients, plus remaining sauce from the pan, until just combined.
- Form into 6 patties.
- Grill, covered, over medium heat for 6-8 minutes on each side.
- Baste with 1/2 cup of the reserved sauce during the last 5 minutes.
- Serve on buns with the toppings of your choce and the remaining sauce.
