Salisbury Sauerbraten Recipe
- 2 to 3 c. brown gravy
- 1 pound grnd beef
- 1/3 c. fine dry bread crumbs
- 2 tbsp. minced onion
- 2 to 3 potatoes, cut up into sm. pcs
- 4 gingersnaps, crushed
- 1 tbsp. brown sugar
- 1 tbsp. wine vinegar
- Combine 1/3 c. gravy with the next 4 ingredients in bowl, mixing well.
- Shape into 4 patties.
- Place in shallow baking dish.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 20 min; drain.
- Arrange potatoes around patties.
- Combine remaining gravy with remaining ingredients in bowl, mixing well.
- Pour over patties and potatoes.
- Bake covered for 20 min longer.
- Yields: 4 servings.
