California 3 Bean Chili Recipe
- 2 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
- 1 c. onion minced
- 1 x green bell pepper coarsely minced
- 1/2 c. dry red wine
- 1 can whole tomatoes - (14 1/2 ounce) broken up
- 1 can black beans - (15 ounce) liquid removed, rinsed
- 1 can red kidney beans - (15 ounce) liquid removed, rinsed
- 1 can white northern or possibly pinto beans - (15 ounce) liquid removed, rinsed
- 4 tsp McCormick chili pwdr
- 1 tsp McCormick garlic pwdr
- 1 tsp McCormick grnd cumin
- 1 tsp McCormick oregano
- 1 tsp McCormick basil leaves
- 1/2 tsp McCormick seasoned pepper
- 2 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- Heat oil in large saucepan over medium-high heat.
- Add in onion and green pepper, cook 5 min, stirring often.
- Stir in Spice Blend and remaining ingredients.
- Bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer 20 min, stirring occasionally.
- Garnish with shredded cheese and minced onion, if you like.
