Cranberry Pear Sauce

  1. Cook the cranberries and sugar over medium heat until the berries start to burst open, roughly 10 minutes.
  2. Add the pears, lemon peel and orange juice.
  3. Cook until the pears are tender but don't let them overcook to the point the dissolve (they will turn a pretty red from the cranberries), roughly 5 to 8 minutes.
  4. Stir occasionally so the sauce doesn't burn.
  5. When cooked, cool, and then store in the refrigerator and serve chilled.
