Beef Pot Pie With Biscuits Recipe
- 1 pound beef boneless chuck, cut into 1/2 inch pcs
- 1 tbsp. shortening
- 1 med. onion, minced
- 1 stalk celery, minced
- 3 tbsp. butter
- 1 1/2 c. warm water
- 1 tbsp. instant beef bouillon
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon dry thyme leaves
- Salt and pepper
- 1 (10 ounce.) pkg. frzn peas and carrots
- 1 (2 ounce.) jar sliced pimentos, liquid removed
- 1/4 c. cool water
- 3 tbsp. Bisquick baking mix
- Biscuits (below)
- Brown beef in shortening in skillet; remove beef.
- Cook onion and celery in butter in skillet till onion is tender.
- Stir in remaining ingredients except cool water, baking mix, and biscuits.
- Heat to boiling; reduce heat.
- Cover and simmer 30 min.
- Heat oven to 450 degrees.
- Prepare biscuits.
- Mix cool water and baking mix till smooth; gradually stir into beef mix.
- Heat to boiling, stirring constantly; boil and stir 1 minute.
- Pour into 1 1/2 qt casserole.
- Arrange biscuits on top.
- Bake till golden brown, 10-12 min.
- 5-6 servings.
