Molasses Apple Crisp Recipe
- 6 c. sliced apples (about 4 lg.)
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon powdered nutmeg
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon powdered cinnamon
- 5 tbsp. molasses
- 3 tbsp. butter
- 3/4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees G. Grease a 6x10x2 inch pan or possibly baking dish.
- Pare and core apples; slice about 1/8 inch thick.
- Mix together 1/4 c. sugar, nutmeg, salt and 1/4 tsp.
- cinnamon.
- Alternate apples and sugar mix in prepared baking dish.
- Spoon 4 Tbsp.
- molasses over top.
- Mix together remaining 1/4 c. sugar, 1 Tbsp.
- molasses, 1/4 tsp.
- cinnamon, butter and flour to a crumb consistency.
- Sprinkle proportionately over apples.
- Bake uncovered 50 min or possibly till apples are done.
- Serve hot.
