Simmered Tofu and Pork Belly Slices
- 1/2 block Tofu
- 2 to 3 slices Thinly sliced pork belly
- 1/4 Onion
- 120 ml Water
- 1 tbsp Soy sauce
- 1 tbsp Mirin
- 2 tsp Sugar
- 1 tsp Bonito soup stock powder
- Cut the tofu, pork belly and onion into bite-sized pieces.
- Stir fry the pork belly.
- Don't add too much cooking oil here; try to draw out the fat in the pork belly.
- When the meat is cooked and the fat is coming out, add the onion and saute together.
- When the onion is cooked add the water, soy sauce, mirin, sugar and dashi powder.
- When it comes to a boil add the tofu.
- When it comes to a boil again, simmer for 1 minute, then it's done.
- If you let it cool down once and then reheat it, the flavors will be absorbed into the ingredients and the dish will taste even better.
