Baked Pears Elegante for 2
- 2 medium fresh bartlett pears
- 12 cup port wine
- 14 cup sugar
- 1 12 inches cinnamon sticks
- 3 whole cloves
- 1 dash salt
- 3 thin lemon slices
- Pare, halve, and core pears; place in 1-quart baking dish.
- In a saucepan, combine remaining ingredients; add a few drops red food coloring if desired.
- Bring to boiling; pour over pears.
- Bake, covered, at 350 degrees for 20 minute.
- Uncover and bake 10 minutes or till tender, basting once or twice.
- Serve hot, or chill and top with whipped cream.
