Butterscotch Brownies With Caramel Icing Recipe
- 4 Tbsp. Butter, melted
- 1 c. Dark brown sugar
- 1 x Egg
- 3/4 c. Flour
- 1 tsp Baking pwdr
- 1/2 tsp Vanilla
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/2 c. Minced nuts
- 1/2 c. Butter
- 1/2 c. Dark brown sugar
- 1/4 c. Half and Half or possibly lowfat milk
- 1 3/4 x -(up to)
- 2 c. Powdered sugar
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- 1 pch Salt
- Preheat oven to 350 .
- Mix all brownie ingredients and spread in a buttered 8x8 pan.
- Bake for 25 min.
- Cold in pan and spread with caramel icing.
- Cut into squares.
- To make icing, heat butter and cook till brown.
- Add in brown sugar and continue cooking, stirring till sugar is completely melted.
- Pour in Half and Half (or possibly lowfat milk) and stir.
- Cold.
- Add in powdered sugar, vanilla and salt.
- Beat till thick sufficient to spread.
- Yield: 12 brownies.
