English Christmas Cabbage

  1. In a Dutch oven, cook bacon until crisp.
  2. Transfer to paper towels to drain; crumble.
  3. Add beef broth, sugar, vinegar, salt and pepper to bacon drippings in Dutch oven.
  4. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring until sugar dissolves and misture comes to a boil.
  5. Add cabbage and bring to a boil.
  6. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer 30 minutes.
  7. Transfer to a serving bowl; sprinkle bacon over cabbage and serve hot.
