Crock Pot Stew
- 1 each onions chopped
- 2 1/2 cups water
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce, tamari
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 6 ounces tomato paste
- 13 cup red wine
- 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 each bay leaves
- 1 each cinnamon stick
- 1/4 teaspoon cloves ground
- 1/4 teaspoon cumin ground
- 2 tablespoons raisins, seedless
- 1/2 pound beef tip round, in small chunks
- 1 cup carrots chopped in 1/2 inch chunks
- 3 each potatoes red, chopped in 1/2 inch chunks
- 5 cups rice cooked, hot
- Add all ingredients except rice to crockpot.
- Stir to blend well.
- (It helps to dissolve the tomato paste in the water first before adding the rest of the ingredients.)
- Cook for 8 hours on low heat, covered.
- Serve over cooked rice.
