Super Bowl Chili
- 2 lbs ground chuck
- 12 lb mild sausage (I used Bob Evans)
- 12 lb hot sausage (I used Bob Evans)
- 1 large onion, diced
- 1 (16 ounce) can diced tomatoes
- 1 (16 ounce) can dark red kidney beans
- 1 (4 ounce) can tomato paste
- 1 (16 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 cup water (used the tomato sauce can and filled 1/2 full so I could get all the sauce out)
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1 teaspoon basil
- 12 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 14 cup chili powder
- 1 tablespoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- Brown the meat together with the onion in a skillet.
- Drain and rinse.
- Put into crockpot and add remaining ingredients.
- Let cook on high for 4 hours and then turn to low to keep warm until serving time.
