Lori's Far Out/East Pork

  1. Place roast in a dutch oven.
  2. Add the water, soy sauce, ginger and anise.
  3. Bring to a boil.
  4. Reduce.
  5. Simmer 1 hour, turning frequently.
  6. Remove from heat.
  7. Let pork cool in liquid.
  8. Drain.
  9. Chunk.
  10. Set aside.
  11. Combine the miso, sriracha, sake, rice vinegar and sugar.
  12. Set aside.
  13. Heat oil in a wok.
  14. Add garlic and ginger.
  15. Stir-fry 30 seconds.
  16. Add pork and onions.
  17. Stir-fry 1 minute.
  18. Add peppers.
  19. Stir-fry 1 minute.
  20. Add sauce.
  21. Stir-fry 1 minute.
