Lori's Far Out/East Pork
- 3 lbs boneless pork loin roast
- 4 cups water
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 slices ginger
- 4 star anise
- 14 cup miso
- 14 cup sriracha sauce
- 3 tablespoons sake
- 1 12 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 12 teaspoons sugar
- 6 tablespoons sesame oil
- 8 garlic cloves (minced)
- 2 tablespoons gingerroot (grated)
- 2 large onions (julienned)
- 2 cups red bell peppers (julienned)
- Place roast in a dutch oven.
- Add the water, soy sauce, ginger and anise.
- Bring to a boil.
- Reduce.
- Simmer 1 hour, turning frequently.
- Remove from heat.
- Let pork cool in liquid.
- Drain.
- Chunk.
- Set aside.
- Combine the miso, sriracha, sake, rice vinegar and sugar.
- Set aside.
- Heat oil in a wok.
- Add garlic and ginger.
- Stir-fry 30 seconds.
- Add pork and onions.
- Stir-fry 1 minute.
- Add peppers.
- Stir-fry 1 minute.
- Add sauce.
- Stir-fry 1 minute.
