Auntie Kellie's Spicy Stuffing

  1. In a large pan melt 3 Tbsp of butter over medium heat.
  2. Add celery and onions.
  3. Saute for 10-15 minutes.
  4. Remove and set aside for later.
  5. Lightly brown sausage and drain.
  6. Add sauteed celery/onion to sausage and cook for 5 more minutes on low heat.
  7. Add can of soup and 2 cups of milk.
  8. Stir and cook about 5 minutes on low heat.
  9. Ada 2 cups of applesauce and juice of 1 orange.
  10. Stir and heat.
  11. Add sage and poultry seasoning, salt and pepper.
  12. Stir and heat on low.
  13. Take off heat.
  14. Add stuffing crumbs.
  15. Fold crumbs gently (do not stir).
  16. May need to add more.
  17. Ilk slowly if too dry.
  18. Pre heat the oven to 350.
  19. Butter 2 2qt baking dishes (best to use separate dishes for baking).
  20. Add stuffing mixture.
  21. Bake for 45 minutes.
