Bacon-Cheesy Scones
- 3 cups self-rising flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon fresh cracked pepper
- 12 cup butter, cold
- 1 12 cups Mexican blend cheese, shredded
- 4 green onions, chopped into small pieces
- 12 slices bacon, cooked & crumbled
- 1 14 cups buttermilk
- Preheat oven to 425.
- Add the flour, salt, and pepper into a large mixing bowl.
- Grate the 1/2 cup of butter into the flour mixture and mix until incorporated.
- Add the crumbled bacon, cheese, and green onion to the mixture and stir until evenly distributed.
- Add the buttermilk and stir until mixture forms a stiff dough.
- Dust working area with extra flour.
- Roll out mixture to 1/2 inch thickness on working area with a rolling pin .
- Cut scones into individual pieces.
- Place individual scones on a greased baking sheet.
- Bake scones for 14-16 minutes or until brown.
