Barley Mushroom Casserole Recipe
- 2 Tbsp. Margarine
- 1/4 c. Diced onions
- 1/4 tsp Salt, (I think the salt is not necessary)
- 1 can (14 ounce) sliced mushrooms
- 1/2 c. Barley
- 1 can Chicken broth, (13 3/4 ounce) or possibly chicken broth pwdr to taste
- Monthly Beit Shemesh magazine
- Heat margarine in 1&1/2 qt casserole.
- Add in onions and cook till wilted.
- Add in broth to measuring c. and add in liquid from mushrooms till total liquid measures 2 c., and add in to onions.
- Add in mushrooms, barley and salt().
- Bake uncovered at 350 fahrenheit, stirring several times, for 1 hour.
- Cover very tightly and bake 1/2 hour more.
- Notes: I always double this recipe.
- I am generous with the onions, mushrooms and chicken pwdr flavoring and it goes like wildfire.
