Barley Mushroom Casserole Recipe

  1. Monthly Beit Shemesh magazine
  2. Heat margarine in 1&1/2 qt casserole.
  3. Add in onions and cook till wilted.
  4. Add in broth to measuring c. and add in liquid from mushrooms till total liquid measures 2 c., and add in to onions.
  5. Add in mushrooms, barley and salt().
  6. Bake uncovered at 350 fahrenheit, stirring several times, for 1 hour.
  7. Cover very tightly and bake 1/2 hour more.
  8. Notes: I always double this recipe.
  9. I am generous with the onions, mushrooms and chicken pwdr flavoring and it goes like wildfire.
