Fudgy Fruitcake Brownies
- 1/2 cup butter
- 6 ounces chocolate chips (semi-sweet)
- 14 ounces milk, sweetened condensed
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- 2 large eggs
- 1 1/4 cups flour, all-purpose
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups fruit cake mixture candied
- 1 cup walnuts chopped
- Preheat oven to 350F (180C).
- Grease a 9 by 13 inch baking pan.
- In large saucepan melt together butter and chocolate chips.
- Stir constantly until melted and smooth.
- Remove from heat.
- Add condensed milk and almond extract.
- Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each.
- Add flour, baking powder and salt.
- Mix well.
- Stir in candied fruit and walnuts.
- Spread in baking pan.
- Bake for about 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean.
- Cool completely.
- Cut into bars.
