Peanut Butter Brownies Recipe
- 1/2 c butter
- 2 (1oz) semi-sweet baking chocolate squares
- 1/2 c creamy peanut butter
- 1/3 c white sugar
- 1/2 c brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 c all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- TOPPING
- 1/4 c butter
- 2/3 c creamy peanut butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/3 c powdered sugar
- 1 1/2 c lite whipped topping, thawed
- Preheat the oven to 325, grease a 9x9 baking pan.
- Melt the butter and chocolate together over low heat.
- Transfer to mixer and blend with peanut butter and sugars on med-low speed until smooth.
- Beat egg with vanilla and add to mixture.
- Combine flour, baking powder and salt; stir into the sugar mixture.
- Spread evenly into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 35 minutes in preheated oven, or until firm.
- TOPPING: blend together the butter, peanut butter, vanilla, and sugar.
- Gently mix in the whipped topping by hand.
- Refrigerate until brownies have cooked and cooled.
- Spread topping onto brownies and cut into bars
