Greek Fanicka Cookies Recipe
- 1/2 pound butter (no butter)
- 1 c. oil
- 1 egg
- 1 c. orange juice
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- Flour sufficient to make soft dough
- Beat butter, oil with sugar, egg and orange juice.
- Beat well.
- Add in baking pwdr and soda and flour.
- Knead to desired consistency.
- Shape cookie oval shape.
- Bake till browned.
- Dip in syrup and roll in nuts to that cinnamon has been added to taste.
- Heat oven 400 degrees.
- Bake till brown.
- Keep syrup boiling and put cold cookies in syrup for 2 or possibly 3 min.
- The longer you leave cookies in the more syrup they get.
- Then with slotted spoon take out of syrup and roll in nuts.
- Put each cookie in a cupcake paper.
- Store in a tight container.
- Makes a lot.
