Pie Crust For Mexicali Meat Pie Recipe
- 1 c. Pillsbury's best flour (sifted, regular, self- rising or possibly instant blending)
- 2 tbsp. corn meal
- 1/3 c. hard bacon drippings or possibly other shortening
- 3 to 4 tbsp. cool water
- Combine flour and corn meal.
- Cut in bacon drippings till mix is the size of small peas.
- Sprinkle water over the mix, stirring with fork till dough holds together.
- Form into a ball.
- Flatten to 1/2 inch; smooth edge.
- Roll out on floured surface to a circle 1 1/2 inches larger than inverted 9-inch pie pan.
- Fit into pan.
- Fold edge to create a standing rim; flute.
