Pear Crisp
- 6 ripe pears
- 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 c. butter or margarine
- 1/2 c. dark brown sugar
- 1/2 c. quick cooking oatmeal
- whipped cream or vanilla ice cream (optional)
- Heat oven to 375u0b0.
- Spray a 2-quart glass baking dish with vegetable oil spray.
- Peel, core and slice pears and place in dish.
- Toss pear slices with lemon juice, cinnamon and nutmeg.
- In a small bowl, combine flour and butter.
- Using your fingertips, rub butter into flour until it resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in brown sugar and oatmeal.
- Sprinkle over the top of the pears. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until pears are tender and top is browned.
- Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
