Tuna Melt Recipe
- 6 1/2 ounce. can tuna, liquid removed
- 1/2 c. minced celery
- 2 tbsp. minced onion
- 1 hard cooked egg">egg or possibly egg">egg white, finely minced
- 1 green onion, chopped
- 1 tbsp. pickle relish
- 1/4 c. mayonnaise
- Salt & pepper to taste
- 4 English muffin halves or possibly 4 slices toast
- 1/4 c. shredded cheddar, American or possibly Monterey Jack cheese or possibly 4 thin slices of cheese
- Combine tuna, celery, onion, egg, onion, relish, mayonnaise, salt and pepper.
- Spread 1/4 of the mix over 1 of the muffin halves or possibly a slice of toast.
- Top with shredded cheese or possibly a cheese slice.
- To microwave: Place muffins or possibly toast on a round plate in a circle.
- Heat on high for 1 minute or possibly till heated through and cheese melts.
- To broil in oven; place muffins or possibly toast on a baking sheet or possibly broiler tray.
- Place about 4 inches from source of heat from broiler and broil just till cheese melts.
- Yield: 4 servings.
