Strawberry Salad
- 1 c. crushed pretzels
- 1 stick butter
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 (8 oz.) container whipped topping
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. boiling water
- 2 small or 1 large pkg. strawberry Jell-O
- 2 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen sweetened strawberries, softened
- Melt butter in a long rectangular dish (Pyrex).
- Add crushed pretzels and 2 tablespoons sugar.
- Mix and spread evenly.
- Bake 10 minutes at 350u0b0 until lightly browned.
- Set aside to cool thoroughly.
- Whip softened cream cheese and 3/4 cup sugar until fluffy.
- Add vanilla and whipped topping, mixing well.
- Spread over cooled pretzel crust.
- Dissolve Jell-O in boiling water; add frozen strawberries, separating with fork.
- Spoon this over cream cheese mixture.
- Chill for several hours until firm.
- Serve in squares.
