Nut Spice Cake

  1. Sift all dry ingredients together.
  2. Cream the shortening and add the sugars gradually, cream them well.
  3. Add eggs one at a time and beat mixture well after each addition.
  4. Add the sifted dry ingredients alternately with the buttermilk.
  5. Add the nuts with the final addition of dry ingredients.
  6. Pour batter into 2 greased paper-lined 9" round cake pans.
  7. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes.
