Caprese Pizza With Bacon
- 6 slices bacon
- 4 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded (Use more if you love cheese!)
- 1 lb pizza dough
- 12 cup basil pesto
- 1 tomatoes, sliced into 1/4-inch thick rounds
- 2 tablespoons fresh basil, sliced
- Cut the bacon slices in half and cook in a skillet over medium heat until still slightly chewy, about 8 minutes.
- Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate and set aside.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough to 16" x 12" rectangle and transfer to a lightly floured baking sheet.
- Spread with the pesto and top with the tomato, bacon and cheese.
- Bake at 425 degrees F for 20 minutes.
- Sprinkle with the fresh basil and serve.
