Abalone Chowder Recipe
- 1 lb Sliced abalone, pounded
- 2 c. Water
- 6 slc Bacon
- 1 x Log minced onion
- 6 x Minced celery sticks
- 4 c. Cubed potatoes
- 4 c. Lowfat milk
- 1/2 cube butter
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Pepper
- 1 tsp Cornstarch
- Dice abalone, add in to potatoes and let simmer in pot with water.
- Fry bacon till crisp, drain and set aside.
- In the bacon fat, cook onion, celery till nearly done.
- Pcs should be slightly crunchy.
- Drain and add in vegetable and butter to abalone.
- Simmer very slowly, adding a c. of lowfat milk every 5 min.
- Salt and pepper to taste.
- Add in cornstarch if thicker chowder is desired.
- Allow pot to simmer for an additional 15 min.
- Add in corn if you like.
