Mustard and Onion Pork Chops

  1. Caramelize the onions, by slicing them up and putting them in a pan with a tablespoon of olive oil and cooking them over a low heat, stirring occasionally.
  2. When they turn a light brown color, they are done.
  3. It takes 30+ minutes for the onions to caramelize on a low heat.
  4. Beat the egg.
  5. Add the prepared mustard and honey to the egg and mix well.
  6. Add the dried mustard and pepper to the bread crumbs and combine well.
  7. First, dip the pork chops in the egg and mustard mixture and then in the bread crumb mixture.
  8. Shake off any excess bread crumbs.
  9. Cook the pork chops on medium heat in a frying pan with a few tablespoons of oil.
  10. Cook for 3-5 minutes per side until the bread crumbs are nicely toasted.
  11. Transfer the pork chops to a baking dish and top with the caramelized onions.
  12. Bake at 350 degrees until the temperature of the meat reaches 160.
