Hamburger Hash Brown Hotdish Recipe
- 4 c. hash browns (or possibly sufficient to cover bottom of pan)
- 1 pound hamburger
- 1 med. onion, minced
- Salt (to taste)
- Pepper (to taste)
- 1 (10 ounce.) pkg. frzn green peas, thawed (or possibly 1 16 ounce. can green peas)
- 1 (10 1/2 ounce.) can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 c. lowfat milk
- 6 to 8 slices American cheese
- 1 (3 ounce.) can French fried onions
- Grease 9 x 13-inch pan.
- Cover bottom of pan with hash browns.
- Brown hamburger and onion in frying pan.
- Drain fat and place hamburger and onion on top of hash browns.
- Salt and pepper to taste.
- Sprinkle peas over hamburger.
- Mix cream of mushroom soup with lowfat milk.
- Pour over mix in pan.
- Place cheese on top.
- Cover pan with aluminum foil.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 45 min.
- Remove foil and sprinkle French fried onions on top.
- Return to oven with heat off for 15 min.
- Serves 4 to 6.
