skye's homemade cinnamon applesauce

  1. in a small heavy sauce pan... combine all ingredients and bring to a boil.
  2. lower heat to a simmer, give everything a good stir, then put the lid on and let cook for about 20 minutes (shorter time if you don't want your apples cooked a whole lot... longer time if you want them a little "mushy".
  3. I like mine right about in the middle.
  4. *grins*).
  5. when your apples get to the texture you like... your applesauce is done.
  6. remove from heat and allow to cool before storing it in the refrigerator.
  7. enjoy this by itself or as a topping.
  8. I like to put some in my oatmeal or over my whole wheat pancakes.
  9. it's even amazing warmed up just a bit and put on top of vanilla ice cream.... like a yummy apple pie without the crust.
  10. mmmmm.
