Chicago Crunchy Chocolate Chip Cookies
- 3 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
- 3 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1/2 c. margarine
- 1 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
- 1 c. granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 Tbsp. milk
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. vegetable oil
- 1 c. cornflakes
- 1 c. quick oats
- 1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate pieces
- Sift flour, baking soda and salt onto waxed paper.
- Preheat oven to moderate (350u0b0).
- Beat butter, margarine, sugars, egg, milk and vanilla in bowl until well blended.
- Stir flour mixture alternately with oil in sugar and butter mixture until mixture is thoroughly mixed.
- Stir in cornflakes, oats and chocolate.
- Drop heaping teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets, 2-inches apart. Bake in preheated oven for 12 minutes or until golden brown.
- Cool on wire racks.
