Plump & Chewy Sugar Cookies Recipe
- 2/3 c. butter
- 1 1/2 c. packed light brown sugar
- 1 c. granulated sugar
- 2 Large eggs
- 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 1/2 c. all purpose flour
- 2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 c. buttermilk or possibly sour lowfat milk
- 1 3/4 c. (14 ounce. pkg.) M & M's or possibly Toll House chocolate chips
- To sour lowfat milk, use 2 1/4 tsp.
- vinegar plus sufficient lowfat milk to equal 3/4 c..
- Heat oven to 350 degrees.
- In large mixer bowl, cream butter, brown sugar, and sugar till light and fluffy.
- Add in Large eggs, vanilla, and beat well.
- Combine flour, baking soda, baking pwdr and salt; add in alternately with buttermilk to creamed mix.
- Stir in M & M's or possibly chocolate chips.
- Drop by level 1/4 cupfuls 3" apart onto lightly greased cookie sheet.
- Bake 12 to 14 min or possibly till lightly browned.
- Cold slightly, remove from cookie sheet to a wire rack.
- Makes about 2 1/2 dozen 4" cookies.
